UPPER Room International Ministries founder, Apostle EugeneMakore has implored spiritual fathers to raise their voices on faith issues to ensure that unscrupulous acts in the church are dealt with.
The United Kingdom based Apostle who is back in the country to launch a local ministry said the spiritual leaders’ silence is allowing some church leaders to pursue unholy endeavours without being chastised.
“A lot of unscrupulous things are happening in the church. Church has become the talk of town, not only because of good things but bad things as well. There is a lot of hanging questions which are not being addressed, thereby giving the leeway for the church to be criticised.
He also said general direction is lacking in most churches.
“How many churches are still baptising, conducting weddings or leading people to receive Jesus Christ as their savior. How many are ordaining?” he queried.
“We can audit everything else in this world. The only thing not being audited is the church but we have been given that right, we were told to test these spirits. It’s a measure of auditing the church.
“Fathers of the land are keeping quiet on certain things, allowing the younger generations to do a lot of unholy things,” Apostle Makore said.
He said believers’ shepherds are leading them astray while spiritual fathers maintain their silence.
“An apostle knows when God is moving. Nowadays, the church is going through what we call spiritual gymnastics.
Some things happening are guided by God. But are we having people speak about it? The office which is responsible for this and can make the nation know is the apostolic office,” Apostle Makore said.
“Scripture will confirm to me that it’s not easy to depict between a miracle and magic or what a familiar spirit is. If you look at Paul, when they were ministering they moved with a woman with an unfamiliar spirit.
“In Acts 16 v 16. They later realised her spirit was not from God, yet everything she said was 100 percent Godly.
“So what we want to deal with in line with our theme “Bringing the nation back to God” is to deal with spirits that are now operating in church. A naked eye cannot see that,” the 49-year-old apostle explained.
He said the low levels in Kariba Dam was strange and a sign from God that needed people’s attention.
“Our way of worshipping God is now being diluted. There is a new type of worshipping coming up. Nowadays, I am not seeing any teachers being raised. Who is teaching people? Most people are calling themselves ‘apostles’.
“But before being mantled to be an apostle, you have to qualify to be a teacher.  You hear that now and then, Jesus used to sit with his apostles and teach them. Take the people, sit them down and teach them,” he said.
Apostle Makore spoke of the confusion in the church.
“There is confusion in the body of Christ. Some people are fathering when they are still young. A spiritually immature person already has spiritual sons and spiritual daughters,” he noted.
He said Paul never said Romans 16 v 25 anything from his head but from scripture befitting him to be an apostle.
“Let us consult the Word in everything we do. When church is home you stay but when church becomes a hospital you never stay. Nowadays, you rarely see people opening the Word of God.
He also noted that closed doors and too much protocol in churches is a major obstacle.
“Churches are now operating like political parties. To see the leaders, you have to see the local counsellor who will tell the local member of parliament.
Apostle Makore’s ministry conduct services at the Harare Agricultural Showground hall and is running programmes such as ‘Unlocking Kingdom Wealth’, ‘Real Life Issues’, ‘The Kingdom Man’ and ‘Precious Jewels’, among others.
