MDC-T activist murders wife

Police in Shamva have arrested prominent MDC-T official Zivai Chimombe for allegedly murdering his wife following a domestic dispute early yesterday morning.

Chimombe, who is brother to Shamva North parliamentary aspirant Mr Godfrey Chimombe, subsequently attempted suicide, but was rescued by neighbours.

He is now receiving treatment at Mount Darwin Hospital under police guard. Mashonaland police spokesperson Inspector Memory Pamire confirmed the case.

Air Zimbabwe facing liquidation

National airline Air Zimbabwe, which is reeling under a US$140 million debt, is facing possible liquidation after the High Court placed it under judicial management.

Mash West Zanu-PF poll results delayed

Polling in the race for the Zanu-PF Mashonaland West provincial chairmanship got off to a peaceful start yesterday with former chairman Cde John Mafa leading in Chegutu. 
Results were still being transmitted from polling stations to the command centre by late last night.

Preliminary results indicated that Cde Mafa was leading in Chegutu, followed by Cdes Reuben Marumahoko, Walter Chidhakwa and Moffat Marashwa in second, third and fourth place respectively.
