Zim-Asset: My middle name

The publicity gained by ZIMASSET is remarkable. Children on the streets run and shout ZIMASSET; it is branded on commuter omnibuses, billboards, poets recite about it and it is flooding across the nation. From Zambezi to Limpopo, Plumtree to Mutare, this gospel is preached. ‘Arise and shine for your time has come’, they clamor.
Actually, ZIMASSET is my middle name. Moving in the advocacy of a socio-economic exodus, confronting cantankerous atrocities of a national chasm is what I do best. The Ten Point Plan is not just a blue-print. It has inculcated in me an entrepreneurial aptitude with a patriotic fortitude and gratitude to the mastermind.

Zimbabwe Agenda for Sustainable Socio-Economic Transformation (ZIMASSET) is a game changer to the nation. It is the exact panacea that the wise have been waiting for. Plainly put, it is an instrument even for generations to come. Engineering, commerce, health, education, agriculture, mining, are all assorted into one immense solution. Come with me for a drive around town and you will be of the same mind. People jostle in the streets day and night like ants pursuing one goal, only in different trajectories.

The Results Based Agenda now comes in and says, ‘be the change that you want to see’ by simply becoming resourceful. There is a large difference between effort and result. We brag about our efforts, but it is time we give birth to results. This is a typical 21st century practical entrepreneurial approach. Using wealth ranking tools to measure quality of life and standards of living, pre and post test assessments reveal the impact pioneered by ZIMASSET.

Africa is the cradle of mankind, so they say. But I declare that it is the spring of socio-economic harmony. The continent is well known for its abundant human and natural resources. Even so, there is under employment of these inclusive of low industrial capacity utilisation. Zimbabwe then took it upon itself to move away from the attention-grabber of poverty and social instability. It is fully inclined towards the provision of an enabling environment for sustainable economic empowerment and social transformation to the people of Zimbabwe.

Experiencing an introductory approach of the 2014 fiscal year, we broke new ground with the agenda’s four main clusters. These are Food Security and Nutrition, Social Services and Poverty Eradication, Infrastructure and Utilities; and Value Addition and Beneficiation. This mere civilised and highly professional distributed focus depicts the state of the art charting. It is a move from being just an intellectual entrepreneur to becoming a practical one, talk of excellence.

Humbled by the glories over flowingly contained inside the teapot shaped country, the honour of investing in this little heaven is enormous. The mammoth task is putting your own house in order. There is absolutely nothing to lose and everything to win. For they also say that nothing comes on a silver platter because sweat is sweet. Those that are familiar with sleepless nights and endless days know it all. A colossal treat of endless smiles calmly sits in front of your prospect gate.

Those that participate in it enjoy its fruits and witness the benefits. A purpose driven and result oriented initiative compiled with no partiality.

I am always persuaded to dwell more on the transformations ensuing from this. This is because of the well-rounded outcomes it has fished from the pond of accomplishment. It has gone beyond the expectations of many, leaving no one out of the picture. There is development after development, both with the quick wins and long term aspirations. Allow me to allude to it as a silent voice to the voiceless. Conspicuously, the blueprint is a voice that does not lose its own in pursuing that of others.

From a seed of socio-economic empowerment comes forth a stem of a self reliant community. This entails sustainable development individually and collectively. Our desperate youths relocate from the corners of the streets into the corners of offices, as trained. While others are busy planting flowers at their houses, they will be busy planting trophies in their offices. Welcome, to the blueprint era.

It is a pity to note that in the midst of this manna, other people side-line themselves. They believe that it is only for the well-up and no one from the struggling neighbourhood. Little do they know that a doctor is not meant for the healthy, but those who are not well. If all was well, then there would be no ZIMASSET. Here is an investment and upgrading opportunity to the populace from all walks of life. This is the sound of victory, a rhythm to the song of innovation and wealth creation.

It is a well known fact amongst us entrepreneurs that it is not the duty of the government to create jobs, but to create a conducive environment for investment, invention, integration and industrialisation. When the appropriate environment is fashioned, we then apply our innovation skill and create employment. The strong human resource base can be taken advantage of; and the muscle of ZIMASSET witnessed.

So today we drive this promising train towards our milk and honey. A journey which began in October 2013 and expected to end in December 2018. The exotic bequeathment of rich mineral deposits, arable tracks of land, flora and fauna, abundant sunlight and water is no secret at all. Every ambitious person has the propensity to become a practical entrepreneur. He or she has the knack to do big and become big in such an economy.

ZIMASSET, the Results Based Agenda, an economic blue-print, sustainably steals the moment. It is undisputedly a proven champion in the socio-economic arena. Thousands of hours were invested, a whole nation positively impacted. Inspired to inspire, motivated to motivate “Towards an Empowered Society and a Growing Economy”.
