IT is necessary for learners to appreciate the validity of the adage “Time and tide wait for no man”.

Indeed, as learners, we should make the most of our time.

The qualities of a good learner include punctuality and the ability to meet deadlines.

Learners at Bradford Senior School are taught a number of things that help them achieve their targets within set times. This is done to ensure they effectively utilise time.

The work includes setting goals, preparing work lists, prioritising tasks and having adequate time to sleep.

Exam candidates are currently maximising the little time left before they sit their final examinations. Those who ignore the importance of time or misuse do so at their own peril; they tend to fail in life.

Procrastination is a recipe for disaster. It often leads to failure.

Poor time management can have negative consequences such as lower grades, as well as missed opportunities for personal growth.

Time is probably the greatest resource we have. Make hay while the sun shines.

Makanaka Musemwa is an Upper Sixth learner at Bradford Senior School.
