Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Cyber Security Minister Mr Supa Mandiwanzira has urged youths to take advantage of the ever-evolving ICT sector to create opportunities for themselves.

Addressing a recent rally organised by Destiny for Africa Network (DaNet) founder Reverend Obadiah Msindo to drum up support for President Mnangagwa ahead of the harmonised elections scheduled for July 30, Minister Mandiwanzira said Government has set aside $7 million for young innovators.

“There are so many opportunities that have been opened up in the ICT sector and as Government, we have set up a $7 million fund to assist young innovators to pursue their dreams. Government is promoting freedom of expression on social media, but we also want you as young people to use it responsibly for your own betterment and that of your communities,” he said.

The fund is also meant to facilitate young innovators patent their products.

He urged the youth to vote for President Mnangagwa, saying he has their interests at heart. Speaking at the same occasion, Rev Msindo said President Mnangagwa had shown his passion for youth development.

“The President is pro-development and the policies he has enunciated since he came into office speak for themselves.

“The agreements entered into between Government and various investors signal a bright future for the country,” Rev Msindo said.

“We should all go and vote for President Mnangagwa and Zanu-PF so that we continue with the growth path he has undertaken,” he added.

Rev Msindo also said his organisation would organise a rally so that youths could interact with the President and get to appreciate his vision for the country.
