I pray that l find you well. It is very important to remember that you are a master piece.

There is no one like you, there has never been anyone like you and there will never be anyone like you.

You are unique and only you can do what you do.

Unfortunately for young people, the grass always looks greener on the other side.

They battle with the inferiority complex and bow down to peer pressure.

Psalm 139 v 14 says, “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”

God took His time when He considered you, you are not just an afterthought, you are unique in the eyes of God.

You have a unique destiny and purpose.

ln previous installments, we have touched on character and wisdom. Today we will look at stature.

Character is the moral quality and direction of one’s decisions and behaviour.

lt is also who you are when you think no one is watching you.

Luke 2 v 52 says, “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

You can increase your wisdom as an individual through reading books, getting good mentors, learning from life’s experiences and praying for it.

Stature is a facet of character.

lt has got two perspectives – the physical and the non-physical aspects.

Stature is the high level of respect gained by impressive development or achievement.

The choice is yours to have a great or weak stature.

Some people have very big personalities and they seem to have everything going on for them, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they have a great stature.

They might have inconsistencies with the qualities of what forms a good character.

Sadly, some young people can find themselves admiring such individuals, not knowing their true character. All it means is that the commercial was better than the movie.

Do not strive to be like them, rather aim higher and do not sear your conscience by going against your morals to fit in.

It can be very difficult to grow your stature because it might mean going against the perceived norm.

One simple way to grow your stature is by seeing yourself in the way that God sees you.

In Judges 6, Gideon was a coward hiding in a cave.

Verse 12 says, “And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and said unto him, the Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.”

This shocked Gideon and he began to interrogate the angel. When he was convinced of what the angel had said, he did amazing things for God.

Gideon grew his stature and died a mighty man of valour.

David was anointed in 1Sam 16 from very humble beginnings. In fact, in 1Sam 17, his elder brother called him mischievous and wanted to chase him away.

Yet we all know the many great exploits of David.

He died a man of great stature.

Then there is Mary, the mother of Jesus. She grew up in a little known town and was just a rural girl when the angel met her in Luke 1.

She was just going about her daily chores but in v28 it is said, “And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.”

The assignment that she was given was a huge surprise to her.

Mary had great stature.

Your stature is not and should not depend on the amount of money that you have (money helps you to grow your stature only when you use it properly).

Your stature is based upon the quality and morality of the decisions that you make. Go through the Word of God and see how God sees you.

You will realise that you have a great mandate, no matter who you are.

Your stature is your responsibility.

Jesus never gave in to peer pressure. He did not get ahead by hook or crook. I can guarantee you that Jesus was not manipulating people or abusing His power either.

He deliberately grew His stature and character.

I encourage you to grow your character and become a better person. With God it shall be well with you.

Till next time, God bless.
