THE month of July is the month of Judah, Leo the lion. It is the month in which His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I was born on the 23rd.

RASTAFARIAN PERSPECTIVES – Ibo Foroma

Emperor Haile Selassie I is the Lion of Judah, one of the Twelve tribes of Israel.

The twelve tribes correspond to the twelve apostles or disciples of Jesus the anointed King of the Jews.

They also correspond to the twelve signs of the Zodiac, whose origin is Ethiopian. Israel is a combination of the words “Is” from Isis; “Ra” from the Egyptian Sun-God Ra, and “El” from El as in Ari-el, Gabri-el, Micha-el and so on.

The tribe of Reuben corresponds with the Zodiac sign Aquarius; Simeon and Levi share Pisces; Judah is Leo the lion; Zebulun is Capricorn; Isaachar is Cancer; Dan is Scorpio; Gad is Aries; Asher is Libra; Naphtali is Virgo; Benjamin is the Zodiac sign Gemini; Ephraim is Taurus; and Manasseh is Sagittarius.

Every tribe has a special emblem that represents that tribe and originates from the book of Genesis.

Rueben is represented by a man or water which is derived from Genesis 49:3-4, “Rueben, thou art my first-born… Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel . . .”

Simeon and Levi are represented by a sword from Genesis 34: 25-26, “And it came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah’s brethren, took each man his sword…”

A castle gate also represents the duet from Genesis 33:18 “ . . . and pitched his tent before the city.” The oldest castle on earth is found in the Ethiopian province of Gondar.

Europeans have since pathetically claimed that their ancestors constructed the masterpieces, the same as the Great Zimbabwe walls, of which all is high quality fiction.

The tribe of Judah is represented by a lion from Genesis 49:9-11, “Judah is a lion’s whelp…” The lion has been expanded to three lions in many Celto-Saxon countries.

The original is only preserved by the Rastafari Empire on a red, gold and green flag with Shields of David.

A scepter and grapevine are Judah’s other symbols.

Zebulun’s emblem depicts a ship from Genesis 49:13, “Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for an haven of ships…”

Issachar’s emblem shows a laden ass from Genesis 49:14, “Issachar is a strong ass couching down between the burdens.”

The tribe of Dan is represented by a snake, Genesis 49:17, “Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels…” A horse also represents this sect derived from the last statement of the same verse.

Gad’s tribal emblem shows troop of horsemen from Genesis 49:19, “Gad, a troop shall overcome him; but he shall overcome at the last.”

Asher’s tribal emblem depicts a goblet from Genesis 49:20, “Out of Asher his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties.”

Naphtali is a hind or a female red deer a symbol directly derived from Genesis 49:21, “Naphtali is a hind let loose: he giveth goodly words.”

Benjamin’s sign is a wolf from Genesis 49:27, “Benjamin shall raven as a wolf…”

Ephraim is represented by an ox or a bull, Taurus the bull. A unicorn also represents this tribe.

Manasseh is represented by an olive branch or a bundle of arrows.

These symbols representing the twelve tribes scattered all over the globe apply to this date. As Genesis 49:1 says, “And Jacob called unto his sons and said, gather yourselves together that I may tell you which

shall befall you in the last days.” The twelve tribes still exist to this day.

The ox or bull plays an important part in the heraldry of Denmark, Netherlands, Scotland and England, where we can find “John the Bull”.

The unicorn appears on both the royal arms of England and Scotland.

The word Scotland is derived from Scotia, an ancient Egyptian Queen who ruled over the land ages ago before western colonial his-story. She was black and African.

The olive branch can be found on the great seal of the U.S.A. and many arms of England and Scotland.

The bundle of arrows can be found again on the great seal of the U.S.A. and in the Netherlands.
