Dendera maestro Sulumani Chimbetu will on Saturday line-up as one of the main acts at the launch of gospel musician Reverend Emmah Mutisi’s album at the United Methodist Church in Cranborne, Harare.
Prolific gospel chanter Blessing Shumba will also feature at the launch, which will see performances by gospel artists Minister Ellard, Reformers Praise, Glorious Melodies, Mai Kuvheya, Blessing Deve and Marimba Edenga.
The album is Reverend Mutisi’s fourth.
Her first offering was released in 2017.
In addition to the title track Ruoko Rwa Jehova, Rev Mutisi’s nine-track album includes eight other songs – Rinda Mwoyo, Mweya Mutsvene, Mwari Munoziva, Hautukike, Muka Udye, Jehovah, Tarisai Kune Nyika and Zvirinani.
Rev Mutisi told The Sunday Mail Online that she had spent close to eight months working on the album.
“We have been working on the album since the start of the year. The album explores how the Hand of God is upon us, because we need God’s favour in whatever we do, no matter what challenges we face. The tracks on the album focus on giving hope to people that are facing any forms of difficulties.”
Rev Mutisi, who is a pastor at the Reformed Church in Zimbabwe, said the album also includes two hymns from her church.
