BLACK RHINOS got a feel of their prospective home ground for the 2020 Premier Soccer League season when they defeated ambitious Northern Region Division One side Simba Bhora 2-1 at Trojan yesterday.

Chauya Chipembere have stepped up preparations for the upcoming season and are also fresh from a two-week camp in Kariba. The army side now want to use Trojan in Bindura as their home ground after a delay in renovations at Chinhoyi Stadium which was their initial choice.

Simba Bhora, who won promotion from Mashonaland Central Division Two League at the end of last season, have declared that they want the PSL ticket this season.

They have signed former Premier Soccer League players who include ex-FC Platinum player Brian Muzondiwa, Dexter Phiri formerly with ZPC Kariba and Honey Chimutimunzeve who joined from Yadah Stars.

Veteran coach Arthur “Tuts” Tutani is now in charge of the Shamva based side.

Simba Bhora owner, Simba Ndoro, was pleased with what he saw at Trojan yesterday and feels his side are on the right track.

“We have said it loud and clear that we want to gain promotion into the top-flight at the end of this season and from what I have seen today I am convinced we are moving in the right direction,” said Ndoro.

“We matched them (Black Rhinos) which is a sign of our competitiveness. It’s a sign of encouragement and thumbs up to coach Tutani and his technical staff for a job well done so far,” said Ndoro.

Simba Bhora have so far sparred against Dynamos, newly-promoted Cranborne Bullets and Black Rhinos.
