We lift the banner of Zimbabwe
thanking the heroes for such an extraordinary gift.
A gift that can never be lost,
Occasions that can never be forgotten.
Pain ran through their veins tears down their cheeks red as blood.
Eyes clear as crystal but anger, hate, pain, sorrow in pursuit fighting for what belonged to them our Nation.
Bullets ran through their hearts blood spilling down hoping for a day we could be free.
They fought with belief and anger seeking the keys to unlock us.
From North to South, East to West gathering their ideas to find their rest
Being led by our brave and wise heroes, heroine’s and the so called comrades
For our President and Comrades are respected and make the world tremble under their command.
Saluting our ancestors Mbuya Nehanda and Sekuru Kaguvi
for the culture they gave us to inherit
We are now free to walk down the road
To celebrate the day that Zimbabwe was born .
I am proud to be African to inherit the education of an African child.
The sun shines down to earth with a smile of endless joy.
Our hearts with a spark of splendour.
Eager for the arrival of that day
A day that we obtained the key to unlock ourselves to be free.
A day when unity was restored
Celebrating 37years of Independence we are proud to be called Zimbabwe a Nation that fought for what it believed for. Happy belated Independence day.
