THE growth of prophecy-led ministries has witnessed increasing claims of miracle working, some of which have elicited derision from both believers and non-believers.

Some “prophets” have made congregants eat grass, or buy “annointed” soil, pens, salt and condoms.

Goodness and Mercy Ministries founder Prophet Tapiwa Freddy has waded into the fray with his “spiritual spectacles”.

According to Prophet Freddy, “spiritual spectacles” allow people to see their past and future, giving congregants the ability to see the “second world”.

Prophet Freddy recently told his congregants that he had a Biblical reference to the “miracle”.

“This is a gift I was given by God and we can refer to the Holly Bible, I can refer to 2 Kings 6 verse 17. The passage says Elisha prayed, ‘Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see. Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.’

“It is an anointing within me, I don’t only do it on my altar but I can tell anyone to look on the wall, even in the air at any place and see with the miracle spectacles.

“We have two worlds, the one we are seeing with our eyes (of flesh) and the other one people see when I order the spiritual spectacles to work for them,” explained Prophet Freddy.

Added Prophet Freddy: “God can use the ordinary man to do the extraordinary work. Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt but he was a shepherd. He paid attention to God’s call when he talked to him through the burning bush.

“In the book of Judges, Samson, the most powerful human being to walk on this earth, used a jawbone to kill a thousand Philistines.

“Simon Peter was a fisherman but he preached the Word of God and performed miracles, and these were ordinary people whom were chosen by God to do extra-ordinary work. Remember a prophet has no honour in his town. Many people are seeing the work of God, while others are condemning.”
