ZIMBABWE, is a nation of abundant wealth and naturally blessed.

The country is situated between two great rivers, Zambezi River and Limpopo Rivers.

The nation is blessed with natural resources that include minerals, the flora and fauna.

It is also home to one of the wonders of the world, the mighty Victoria Falls or Mosi-oa-Tunya (the smoke that thunders).

We also have peace loving people that are hardworking and highly educated.

Possibly, due to our humility, it took long for us to take up arms and fight the brutal settlers that had colonised us for long, denying locals basic rights and forcing them into slave trade.

But with time, our national heroes and heroines went all out fighting for self-rule, which led to our hard-won Independence in 1980.

The liberation struggle was protracted.

Elections were held and the majority rule prevailed brining in Independence. Black people took over power through votes. Unity and reconciliation was immediately preached and the nation became one.

Reconstruction, development and empowerment have become focus points in a free Zimbabwe.

Schools, dams, houses, health facilities and roads among other things have been built in post-independent Zimbabwe.

Education can now be accessed by all, unlike in the past.

The prevailing peace and tranquillity coupled with stunning scenery, beautiful climate and world-class tourist attractions have seen Zimbabwe become one of the most sought-after destinations in the world.

We are an envy of many nations.

My country shall forever be mercifully looked after by the Creator.
