THEy say all good things must come to an end.

This was the story at Old Georgians Sports Club, as giants Pitbulls suffered their first defeat in over two years to spirited and hungrier hosts Olf in the Paramount Garments Under-20 Championship final yesterday.

Old Georgians appeared to want it more.

“No excuses here, OGs came and played one hell of a game,” said Pitbulls’ head coach Geoff Madhake.

“They played a brilliant game and had home advantage, but kudos to them all the same.

“It was just a bad day in the office for us.”

OGs came out on top in a game that lacked in a few departments.

Both teams were found wanting for unnecessary turnovers, while the kicking was atrocious.

The hosts got their points through tries from Kelvin Kaseke, Tadiwa Unganai, Gealam Jaridza, Joseph Benning, Happious Zhou and Benoni Nhekairo, who also provided three conversions.

On their part, Pitbulls got their points via tries from Tadiwa Marumisa, Vincent Chimwendo, Edward Sigauke, Alex Nyamunda and Panashe Mugorogodi.

Winger Shadreck Mandaza also chipped in with three of his own conversions.

OGs gaffer Tatenda Museba was happy to see their game plan being well-executed by his charges.

“The boys stuck to their guns, followed and executed our game plan very well,” said Museba.

“Pitbulls played very well, gave us a good run and, in the end, I am happy with the result.

“It was a tight game, but our defensive performance was the difference maker.

“Pitbulls spent large spells camped in our half, but we held our own.”
