ZANU PF will send the party’s new Youth League executive for orientation at the Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology.

Last week, the party held its elective conference, which saw Cde John Paradza becoming the new deputy secretary for Youth Affairs, replacing Cde Tendai Chirau, who now joins the Central Committee as an ex-officio member.

In a statement at the party headquarters on Tuesday, ZANU PF national commissar Dr Mike Bimha said the party leadership is ready to support young leaders.

“As commissariat, we will be giving the new executive support of what is expected. Very soon we will be organising for them to go to Chitepo School of Ideology,” said Dr Bimha.

At the ideological school, they will be taught the ethos of the ruling party and what is expected of them as they assume their respective offices.

Dr Bimha said the secretary for Youth Affairs is appointed by the First Secretary of the party.

Contrary to claims by some media outlets, Dr Bimha said the candidate-selection process was open, as the party made a call for interested individuals to bring their CVs forward for vetting.

During the process, due consideration was given to gender representation.
