Film-producing company Slimaz Studios, which rose to prominence after producing the immensely popular film “Tunga” in 2019, has released what it thinks is a masterpiece in the form of a film titled “Bonde”.
Like Tunga, the 30-minute film was produced by Willard Magombedze.
It is about a man who discovers that his wife had fallen in love with a fellow church member.
“Every day, we hear about love triangles, about cheating in relationships and other sensitive issues that are related to love. This film will surely ring a bell for many people,” said Magombedze.
Actors Abigail Mondo, Lina Zengeya and Tsitsi Zindimo, who featured in “Tunga”, are also part of the new film’s cast.
In the script, Edmore (Tatenda Kwangwa), who is married to Mavis (Abigail Mondo), is shocked after discovering that his wife is having an extra-marital affair with Munashe (Silver Blaze), who is the praise-and-worship leader in church.
After discovering the affair, Edmore attempts to commit suicide but is saved and counselled by peer educators.
“Research has shown that people within this age groups (18 to 56) are prone to committing adultery. One of the lessons that viewers can draw from the film is that suicide is not the solution to domestic problems,” Magombedze added.
