NOTORIOUS bouncers Blessing Kumunda and Gideon Sanyangore have been remanded in custody to January 3, 2023.

The duo appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Stanford Mambanje on Friday facing charges of attempted murder after the violence that rocked Pabloz Night Club in Borrowdale last Saturday.

It is the State’s case that on December 24, 2022, at around 2.30am, the two bouncers were drinking beer at Pabloz Night Club with other patrons when they were approached by the two complainants – Wilson Kaminya and Munyaradzi Runganga – who are part of the security team at the club.

Wilson and Munyaradzi told them to leave as the club was about to close, but the two refused and started assaulting the club’s staffers.

During the ensuing melee, Blessing allegedly pulled out an Okapi knife and tried to stab Munyaradzi on the stomach but missed.

He then advanced towards Wilson and tried to also stab him on the stomach, but he blocked the knife with his left hand and sustained deep cuts.

The bouncers were later arrested on Wednesday.
