HERBERT Maruwa and Wilson Mutekede are set to join Ngezi Platinum Stars, with the announcement set to be made this week, The Sunday Mail Online has learnt.
The duo is coming in to assist the reigning Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions’ head coach, Takesure Chiragwi.
Mutekede is the former Zimbabwe Football Association technical director and was dismissed from that role in November last year.
According to a source who spoke on condition of anonymity, Mutekede and Maruwa have already been identified as the ideal assistant coaches for the Mhondoro-based outfit.
“The deal is already done and all that is left is the official announcement, which should be made in the coming days this week,” said the source.
“Klifton Kadurira, who was Maruwa’s assistant coach last season, is set to fully return to the junior structures. He will not be doubling as assistant coach for the senior team, like he did in the past.”
Efforts to get a comment from the club’s executive have been futile over the past two days.
Mutekede, who previously coached Shabanie Mine, has also been on the radar of Eastern Region Soccer League champions, Bikita Minerals.
