THE Zimbabwe Netball Association has appointed musicians Jah Prayzah, Janet Manyowa, Feli Nandi and Tamy Moyo as brand ambassadors for the women’s senior national team ahead of the 2023 Vitality Netball World Cup finals next month.
The quadrennial tournament will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, between July 28 and August 6.
Sixteen countries will battle it out for top honours.
South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Uganda will be representing Africa.
Speaking at the 2023 World Cup final squad announcement in Harare on Wednesday, Gems spokesperson Maimba Mapuranga said brand ambassadors play a key role in promoting the team’s visibility and enhancing its fan base.
“With the World Cup fast approaching, we are delighted to have on board Jah Prayzah, Feli Nandi, Janet Manyowa and Tamy Moyo as our brand ambassadors,” said Mapuranga.
“The ambassadors will offer the Gems a unique perspective and creative input, as we hope to create hype around the team at this crucial time.
“They understand the power of supporters and also bring together people from all walks of life to this noble cause.”
Manyowa pledged support to the Gems.
“I am thrilled to be associated with this team, and I am also thankful to the Zimbabwe Netball Association for trusting me as their brand ambassador,” she said.
