Over 90 percent of exhibition space available for the 62nd edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) has been booked by 405 exhibitors, with preparations for the annual showpiece now at an advanced stage.

This year, the ZITF will welcome exhibitors from 11 different countries who have already confirmed their participation.

The exhibition show will run from July 20 to July 23 under the theme: “Showcasing the New Normal for Business & Industry: Realities and Opportunities.”

In a statement on Thursday, ZITF company chairperson Mr Busisa Moyo said this year’s edition was geared to help forge innovative business models in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Space bookings now at 90 percent to capacity, with 405 direct exhibitors having thus far booked 44 878sqm out of the 49 547sqm, which had been made available for sale,” he said.

“In terms of foreign participation, 11 countries have confirmed, namely Angola, Belarus, Botswana, Indonesia, Japan, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa and Tanzania.

“The theme acknowledges that ZITF 2021 is taking place against the backdrop of Covid-19 and as such calls for multi-stakeholder engagement in forging innovative and sustainable business models, economic and trade re-engagement and translating new opportunities in a rapidly unfolding context to ensure business continuity while shock-proofing the economy from further devastating consequences of the pandemic.”
