HERENTALS forward, Calum English-Brown, missed the opportunity to make a milestone achievement, as he sat out Wednesday’s 0-0 draw against ZPC Kariba in a Group One Chibuku Super Cup match at the National Sports Stadium (NSS).

English-Brown, who is set to become the first white infield player to grace the local premiership since the turn of the millennium, is however now racing against time for Sunday’s match against CAPS United.

The 20-year-old forward is nursing a groin injury.

Herentals coach Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva is hoping English-Brown recovers in time, as ‘The Students’ are desperate to pick up their first win.

Mutiwekuziva was however impressed with the 0-0 draw against ZPC Kariba on Wednesday afternoon.

Herentals anchor Group One of the Chibuku Super Cup with three points from seven matches.

They are virtually out of the Cup but Mutiwekuziva wants his boys to bow out with some dignity.

“We wouldn’t read much into this match against ZPC because it was the first one after a long layoff,” said Mutiwekuziva.

“I think it’s a fair result, though not good for us as we no longer have the chance to progress to the next round.

“However, going out of the Cup with dignity is a priority,” said Mutiwekuziva.

“We have to scratch one or two wins so that we bow out with a dignity.”

He also spoke about English-Brown.

“He has a groin injury he picked up two weeks ago. His availability on Sunday is now 50-50,” said Mutiwekuziva.
