AFRO-FUSION crooner Andy Muridzo (pictured right) is set to break new ground when he performs in Dublin, Ireland, on Friday.

Muridzo is expected to deliver a polished act at the Nelson Mandela Hall on December 16 before proceeding to Boxed Bar and Music Venue the following day.

At the “Dublin Unplugged” tour, the “Dherira” hitmaker will share the stage with South African group Sdala B and Paige.

Muridzo reckons this is a perfect platform to solidify his brand internationally.

“We have been to South Africa and Botswana countless times but the long-term objective has always been to conquer the international market. Being noticed and trusted with an opportunity to perform on such a stage is every artiste’s dream. For me, it shows that the brand Jeetaz is moving in the right direction,” he said.

Muridzo hopes to take advantage of his maiden Ireland performance to attract new followers. He goes on the tour armed with his latest offering “Zunza”.

But the singer is expected to play both new and old hits.

Furthermore, he hopes to maintain a solid presence on the international scene.

Such tours, he notes, open doors for new connections and promote culture exchange.

“I have no intentions of diverting from my traditional sound. Local content has the capacity to make an impact across borders. I believe we have what it takes to reach for the stars. Our music is rich in culture,” said the former Military Touch Movement member.

Baba Keketso, as he is affectionately known, has also hinted at collaborations with international stars.

“Collaborating with artistes who share your vision will help you scale new heights. Our aim is to match international standards and increase our global visibility.

“So, as we venture into virgin territory, we hope this will be the first of many foreign opportunities in new destinations.”

Muridzo has pledged to deliver a spirited act and create a lasting first impression.

In the past, he has toured the United Kingdom.

He acknowledges the challenges associated with debut shows but says he is up to the task.

“It feels great. I know the pressure of having to perform in such spaces for the first time, but l will give it my all because the first impression lasts forever. We want to give Ireland some early Christmas joy and also reignite our foreign forays. It will be a time to remember,” said Muridzo.

Administrator Charity Mukwasine–Emmanuel, of Chikandamina Promotions, the tour organisers, said Muridzo has potential to make it big globally.

“It takes the right connections for one to make it up there. We have been following Muridzo and we believe he has what it takes to charm the international market. It is time for him to grow his brand and break boundaries.”
