TROUBLESOME Dynamos midfielder Denver Mukamba failed to turn up for Walter Magaya’s Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries all-night vigil dubbed the ‘Night of Turn around 6’ yesterday in Harare.

Mukamba, who is on suspension at DeMbare for his truant behaviour which includes alleged drug abuse and bunking training sessions, had been invited by Magaya’s church for spiritual cleansing.

But as has become his norm, Mukamba did not turn up for the service which attracted tens of thousands of people at Magaya’s church in Waterfalls.

However, a senior member of the church who spoke anonymously said it was difficult to tell whether Mukamba had turned up or not given “the huge crowd” that attended the event.

“There were over 500 000 people who attended so to say Denver didn’t come or not was difficult.

“We had a number of sports persons who attended so maybe he came, maybe he didn’t,” said the official.

A former Soccer Star of the Year who dazzled the local league in 2012, Mukamba has seen his career stagnate ever since he was off-loaded by South African side Bidvest Wits last season.

Last season, the midfielder was accused of being part of a cabal of Dynamos players accused of abusing drugs and alcohol.

His latest absenteeism act, which saw him miss Dynamos’ crucial game against Ngezi Platinum Stars last weekend, has forced DeMbare coach Lloyd Mutasa to sideline the midfielder.

Last week, Mukamba and his “partner in crime” Lincoln Zvasiya attended the DeMbare training session but watched the proceedings from the sidelines.

They are not part of the Dynamos team to face Chapungu at the National Sports this afternoon.
