Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Ambassador Frederick Shava on Monday met the director of Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) to discuss areas of cooperation between the two countries.
The agency is in charge of carrying out technical cooperation projects between the Brazilian government and its cooperating partners, including Zimbabwe.
Presently, Zimbabwe and Brazil have two cooperation projects underway in cotton and livestock development, including pasture improvement.
“Technical demonstration units have been established at the Cotton Research Institute in Kadoma and Gokwe, as well as the Grasslands Research Centre in Marondera.
“The livestock project aims to increase the national herd in order to increase export opportunities for Zimbabwean beef,” said the ministry in a statement.
“In terms of cotton productivity, the goal is to improve rural livelihoods and create jobs, in addition to value addition and beneficiation.”
