GOSPEL musician Minister Kuda Mutsvene recently released his second album, a 10-track solo offering titled “Ndinonzwa Mazwi”, something he says shows he has come of age.

On his debut album “Chirangano”, Mutsvene featured his older sibling Mercy on the track titled “Mhururu Kumatenga” and added remixes of traditional choruses.

But on “Ndinonzwa Mazwi”, Mutsvene composed and recorded the songs on his own.

“I feel time has come for me to stand on my own and also show the world what I am made of,” said Mutsvene.

He said consistency and dedication had seen him releasing his second studio album three years after his debut.

“Ndinonzwa Mazwi”, a praise and worship album, was recorded at Child of God Studio, owned by Minister Michael Mahendere.

Songs on the album include the title track, “Baba Vedu”, “Munotinzwa”, “Era Era” and “Zarura Masuwo”.

“All the songs on this album talk about God. I have not sung about poverty, human challenges or any other thing. I have deliberately done this in a bid to authenticate God’s omnipotent nature even in times of troubles and hardships, understanding that with Jesus in the vessel, people can afford to smile at the storm,” Mutsvene said.

The musician is giving it his all and it should not come as a surprise if he soon finds himself as a leading voice in praise and worship music.

Not only is he self-confident but he is also willing to go the extra mile.

“I believe all the songs on the album are going to be hits. I have never done anything that is not a hit when it comes to music. It’s only that this time I have done it without any collaboration,” he said.

The title track has already pricked ears and it may well be one of the best gospel songs this year released – never mind that we have just ended the first quarter. “Before I released the album, the song ‘Ndinonzwa Mazwi’ leaked and a certain guy from Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries’ praise and worship started singing it. People loved the song and in no time it was a hit.

“Again, praise and worship teams from Apostolic Faith Mission and Zaoga churches started singing it and the song became even more popular,” he said.

Mutsvene said he was unsure if people singing along to his song identified him as the owner of the track: “I hope Star FM Gospel Greats and airplay will help me.”
