Men think we are an easy catch

The Sunday Mail

This is to you girls. For those who have been bearing pain day and night. For those who have no hope for the future.

Men have been taking advantage of us. Girls are being raped and sexually harassed everyday, only because men think we are weak and an easy catch.

We have been made pregnant with unwanted babies. We have been made mothers when we are not yet ready. Some of us have aborted our pregnancies only because we have no one to take care of us and we are scared.

Five year olds are being raped, seeing this brings me much pain. Most of us have dropped out of school.

Our parents have kicked us out of their homes only because of you men. Some of us are being raped by our own relatives whom we trust.

Some of us are being threatened to choose between death and sex. Our hope for the future is all gone. Our dreams of becoming doctors, lawyers, engineers are all gone. Our own parents abandon us. We have been left all alone scared and frightened. We are seduced by little gifts.

Some of us are being forced to have sugar daddies not knowing the great danger before us. Some of us now have STDs putting our lives at risk. Our plans for the future have been ruined. All our hardwork has been for nothing only because men take us for granted.

We have been crying day and night regretting because the good has been taken from us. Yet you men have nothing to lose, all you do is deny your pregnancies or wrongs.

Our voices have been taken away from us. No one can hear us anymore. It’s time we stand up for our rights. It’s time we girls say no to rape. It’s time we girls say no to being threatened. It’s time we girls say no to sugar daddies. It’s time we girls say no to being seduced. It’s time we get our voices back. It’s time we raise our voices. It’s time our voices are heard. It’s time we live without fear. It’s time we be loved.
