Let’s seek righteousness

THE Apostolic Faith in Mission in Zimbabwe has implored women to give their lives to Christ and pray earnestly for the nation to be blessed.

Wife to leader of AFM, Mrs Josephine Madziyire delivered the strong message at a conference held in Chatsworth recently.

“We need strong women who fear the Lord for our nation to be blessed by the Lord. When you see a woman or a girl engaging into prostitution to earn a living that alone is a sign that the person is not of the Lord because those who are of the Lord do not engage into prostitution to raise money.

“The Bible encourages us to work and fend for our families. If you pray to God, He can give you the wisdom to start a viable business but you also need to pray to God so that he blesses the work of your hands. Our theme for this conference is ‘Go through it in order to make it’ meaning that there are numerous impediments in this earthly life and nobody can run away from them.

“What is important is not how big the problems are but what an astute woman does when faced with these challenges.

‘‘Prostitution is not a solution to any problem but will in fact add many problems to your life. HIv and Aids can only be avoided by knowing that your body is God’s temple and by being faithful to your lawful partner, having numerous sexual partners will do you more harm than good,” she said.

Added Mrs Madziyire: “Our teachings at this conference come from the Bible and as you have seen thousands of women came here to pray and to be inspired from the teachings that we share with them.

‘‘I believe that nobody who comes to this holy place will go back home the same, miracles do happen here and people who come here with a mission to dine with God always go back to their homes with great testimonies.

“Some came here barren but now have children, people do not come here for the leaders or those who will be ministering the word but they know that when they come to Rufaro, God will meet them at their point of need.

“This scourge of prostitution has affected not only the women or girls but men as well. In these last days we are living in, Christians and leaders alike who should be exemplary to those who are yet to receive Christ are doing shameful things and surprisingly are not apologetic at all,” Mrs Madziyire said.

She challenged Christians not to override their conscience which warned them when they were about to sin.

“People seem to derive great joy from committing all sorts of sins but we should know that in the end God will judge each and every one according to their works here on earth.

“In the eyes of God we are all his children and these earthly titles we have should not make us take advantage of other people. Christians and pastors have a mandate of preaching the word of God to all nations until the day we meet our maker and should desist from doing things that will bring the name of God to shame.

“Every Christian who has a relationship with God has a conscience which convicts them when they are about to sin. We should try to emulate the biblical Job who was perfect, upright and shunned evil,” she said.
