Honour women

WE need to honour, respect and adore all the amazing women in our lives throughout March as it is Women’s Month.

Let us be proud of their achievements.

It is important to be committed to building a world free of all ills perpetrated against women.

In observance of the annual International Women’s Day on March 8, our school’s deputy head, Ms Perseverance Chifamba, took time to educate all learners about the importance of women.

She outlined the problems most women and girls face, including gender inequality and lack of sanitary wear.

There are instances when some girls and women skip school and work, respectively, during their menstrual cycles because they cannot afford sanitary wear.

Ms Chifamba and some of the school staff donated sanitary pads to girls and women who are less privileged.

Bold action is needed to accelerate progress in achieving gender equality.

Let us all normalise treating women with due respect.  They deserve everyone’s love.

Women’s Day is celebrated to show love and appreciation towards women.

It is a fact that all great personalities are born of a woman.

Here’s wishing a happy Women’s Month to strong, intelligent, talented and simply wonderful women in this world.
