One of the most popular groups on the Star FM “Gospel Greats” charts, Heartfelt International Ministries (HIM) Praise and Worship team, is set to record its sixth live DVD recording this week.

Following the “Glory No Walls” album last year, “Shekinah Glory” is expected to be recorded at the church’s International Overflow Centre in Ashdown Park, Harare on Saturday.

HIM music director Pastor Samson Kingsan said the choir composed a variety of songs for “Shekinah Glory”.

“Each year, the choir members compose different songs and I do the selection of the songs to be recorded from the pool. Some of the composers for this year’s album include Ronald Ngulube, Tarie Mungure, Primrose Machaka, Nyasha Kasvosve and Pastor Trevor Danda,” he said.

He said album title was inspired by HIM president and founder Apostle Tavonga Vutabwashe.

“Shekinah glory means the dwelling presence of God; manifestation of the visible and tangible presence of God, and this is the main characteristic of our music. The music is greatly inspired by our father Apostle Vutabwashe, who is a great worshipper,” he said.

He added, “This year’s recording is going to have a higher exhibition of excellence and, more importantly, high spirituality compared to the previous one.”

Apostle Vutabwashe said the HIM choir had been a platform for nurturing talents for over eight years now.  HIM choir recently performed alongside Nigerian gospel musician Sinach at Glamis Stadium in Harare.

Their music has been rocking the airwaves and dominated Star FM “Gospel Greats” with the song “Jesu Ndimambo”, composed by Ngulube. The song topped the Star FM “Gospel Greats” for three consecutive months, making it one of the most durable and popular compositions on radio.

In 2009 the HIM choir launched its maiden DVD, titled “Catch the Fire”, which was followed by “Chinyarara Moyo Wangu” (2010), “Yes I Will” (2013), “Intimacy” (2014), and “Glory No Walls” (2015).
