Graeme Cremer might be on a

sabbatical, but he has produced some super moments in Chevrons colours.

The Sunday Mail’s Brighton Zhawi picked some of Cremer’s memorable and truly entertaining moments of his 13-year career.

The comeback

After halting his international career in 2013, Cremer made a comeback in May 2015 with his first match coming in Zimbabwe’s historic tour to Pakistan.

The Chevrons became the first Test playing nation to tour Pakistan since 2009 when a Sri Lankan team was attacked by gun men.

Cremer played in the second ODI between Zimbabwe and Pakistan in Lahore picking two wickets for 52 runs in 10 overs.

July 2015, Cremer stars as Zim beat India

The leg-spinner took an impressive 3-18 (4) as Zimbabwe beat India by 10 runs to draw the two-match T20 series in Harare.

January 2016, The 58 match

Cremer joined Hamilton Masakadza with Zimbabwe reeling at 49-7 in the third ODI against Afghanistan at Sharjah. The two combined for a 104 eight-wicket partnership with Cremer scoring 58 and Masakadza 83 to guide Zimbabwe to 175. The visitors went on to win by 117 runs bowling Afghanistan out for 58.

October 2016, The Test ton

Cremer scored his maiden Test hundred, an unbeaten 102 batting at number eight against Sri Lanka in the first Test at Harare Sports Club.

June 2017, Sensational Sri Lanka Series

Captain Cremer led Zimbabwe to their first ever five match ODI series win away from home when they beat Sri Lanka 3-2.

The real gentleman

In March 2018 he revealed that he had turned down a $ 30 000 offer to fix a match.

Cremer subsequently informed the International Cricket Council of an approach to fix matches.

He was lauded by ICC for this move, turning down the offer made by one Rajan Nayer who was a ZC’s board member at the time.

Cremer’s last appearance for Zimbabwe was the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier match against UAE at Harare Sports Club on March 22, 2018.
