Most soccer followers know of the UEFA Champions League where Ronaldo and Lionel Messi hog the limelight. Well, the Zimbabwe Christian Soccer Association has come up with its own Zimbabwe Christian Soccer Champions League.

It is good to realise that quiet a number of congregations are active in this “winning souls through sport” drive.
Mr Nigel Makamba of Mufakose summed up the feeling in a touching e-mail during the week.
“Greetings Mr Nyakwenda, first I would like to thank you for covering these leagues, it gives those who are participating more hope and excitement. God bless you,” he wrote.
Mr Makamba is the fixtures secretary for Mufakose Area Zone League which was re-launched early this year and is now in Week 10.
Zaoga, CCAP, AFM and Roman Catholic are some of the teams competing in the Mufakose Area Zone League.

Well, the Zimbabwe Christian Soccer Association has come up with its own Zimbabwe Christian Soccer Champions League.
Top Church teams from Harare and Chitungwiza make up this fascinating Champions League which was launched at Chibuku Stadium in Chitungwiza in March 2016.
The teams qualified from Harare, Zengeza and Chitungwiza Christian Leagues.
“The top four teams in each league qualify for the Champions League and we also have a slot for the best fifth placed team.
“In this league, we have some of the best players from the regions and fans are treated to some tantalizing soccer every weekend,” said Mr Fungai Ngwerume, Zimbabwe Christian Soccer Association administrator.
Heartfelt, Newlife Covenant church, Mount Hope and Pentecostal Assemblies of God represent Harare.
Celebration Church, Salvation Army, AFIM and St Stephens UMC represent the Zengeza League while All Saints Anglican, St Andrews UMC Legends, Nyatsime MCZ, Seke Unit A MCZ and Salvation Army J are from the Chitungwiza Christian League.
The Chitungwiza Christian League will host a mid-season 16-team Heroes special tournament at the University of Zimbabwe soccer grounds on Tuesday.
The program starts at 9am.
It is fun galore at Makoni Police Station ground this afternoon as ana Madzibaba from Johane Masowe Chishanu clash with Pentescotal Holiness Church.
