IT is not only the Government’s responsibility to take care of the disabled, orphans and the disadvantaged; but also that of the community, including Christians, Muslims and other religious groups.

As the Bible clearly states that we must show love to one another — this is what the Roman Catholic Youths group known as ZimRoma is doing for the needy.

We promised God that we will help the poor, feed the hungry and love everyone and we surely did not disappoint the spirit of God. On the February 6, we decided to start our charity work at Larche Home in Waterfalls with the aim to fulfil our group’s objective.

Larche is a home where youths between 7-35 years who are physically challenged are kept. We had prepared some goods as a gift to youths of our age who live there, we spent the whole day helping the staff with garden work, cooking and house cleaning.

Above all the spirit of God made us have a holy time of fellowshipping with the youths.

We could feel the presence of God in the place and a strong relationship filled with true love and oneness was created.

Though we did not have much to give them, the love we showed made them to feel special and loved.

This humble visit at Larche was a message to the entire Catholic family that if we unite in assisting the community in need surely we will develop our nation and our God will bless us.

And the Roman Catholic Church represents the true bride of Christ and its community work being done by individuals, guilds and Church groups shows how much God loves us.

It’s high time we show love to the poor and those in need. ZimRoma Youth Group is a group with the aim to unite all Catholic youths across the world and spreading the word of God through various spiritual and social activities.
