IT is back, it is bigger and it is better!

The Castle Lager Braai Festival’s nationwide activations came to a thrilling end in Masvingo last weekend after touring Kadoma, Chinhoyi, Gweru, Chitungwiza, Bulawayo and many parts of Harare, including KwaFatso in Glen Norah.

The braai fest activities climax this coming weekend at Old Hararians Sports Club in the capital after a scare that saw it being postponed by a week.

There had been fears among party lovers after Delta Beverages had announced the postponement last week, with some pointing to last year’s indefinite deferment, which saw the event completely failing to take place.

From 4pm this Friday, a two-day party kicked off, taking a short break around midnight, only to return stronger at 11am on Saturday to run into the wee hours of today.

Since this is a Delta Beverages event through their biggest brand, Castle Lager, two things are certain.

Firstly, beer will not run out, and secondly, a pump price is guaranteed.

Just as was the case at the last event, there will also be plenty of meat as this is a “braai fest”.

But, meat and beer alone are not sufficient ingredients for a two-day party.

Good music is therefore, a must.

Enter the stars -Winky D, Freeman, Killer T, ExQ and Takura.

Killer T and ExQ will hold fort on Friday while Winky D, Freeman and Takura will take over on Saturday to shut down the event in style.

These aforementioned top performers will not be alone – a plethora of DJs will be in the mix.

Of interest on the DJs line up is the return of Legendary Sound with DJ Simms on the turntables.  Silence Do$h and Merciless Zimbabwe are also a surprise package, together with DJ Stavo, Raydizz and King Her.

On Saturday, the party goes a notch higher with a team of some of the finest DJs in Zimbabwe, led by the superstar outfit of the Judgement Yard duo.

The  duo is made up of DJ Flevah and MC Etherton Beenie.

DJ Storm, Templeman and Gary B, DJ Naida, DJ Cech, DJ Fafi, Chucknosis, DJ Eve and DJ Mbale complete the Saturday DJs line-up. Delta Beverages’ national sales executive Stan Muchenje said:

“This year we are making up for last year, we failed to come through with this event, not because of our liking, but because we were hit by cholera and other problems.

“I am hoping that no disaster happens between now and Friday.

“We all can do with a bit of some relief,” said Muchenje.

He urged drinkers not to overdo it on Friday as they will be required to be fit again for Saturday.
