Beitbridge police has arrested a woman who was allegedly found in possession of dagga and crystal methamphetamine worth $300 000.
Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest of the suspected drug peddler.
Esnath Shumba (29) was arrested after a tip-off by members of the public.
“On May 17 police in Beitbridge reacted swiftly to a tip-off and arrested Esnath Shumba (29) for unlawful possession of 1,017 kilogrammes of dagga and 0,008 kilogrammes of methamphetamine, all with a street value of $300 000,” he said.
“The drugs were recovered in the suspect’s room hidden in a plastic lunch box, torn mattress and plastic bucket, as well as on a chair covered with a blanket.”
