  1. THERE is a new way to unwind in town, which starts only at 8 o’clock on a Friday evening – it is the 8 O’clock Show.

Featuring not one or two, but five talented musicians, the first edition of the show is slated for Alliance Franciase Theatre this Friday, March 9.

One of the acts performing on the night, former Afrika Revenge lead vocalist, Mehluli Moyo aka Taz, said the show seeks to give revelers a whole new experience.

“The show is based on a desire to create a unique musical experience that brings together people to enjoy music and create memories. We particularly wanted to do something special for our friends and those who support us,” said Taz.

Besides Taz, the other four acts are Prayersoul, Tytan, Squash and Adrian Tate.

Taz said they chose to collaborate and not go solo because they can give their audiences a better experience as a combined force.

“As artistes we all have a passion for music and are talented in various ways and we have always wanted to work together. This show gives us the opportunity to do just that, fuse various genres and experience a little of each other’s musical background,” he highlighted.

However, there are no female acts on the line up for this initial edition.

Explained Taz: “For the first session of the 8 O’clock series, we wanted a boy band but as the series continues, you will see us mixing things up quite a bit. The next show will either be a mixed show or a ladies only edition so watch this space.”

Taz also said this will be a platform for the artistes to try out their new material.

“The audience can expect to enjoy each artiste’s hit songs along with covers of popular local and international songs. Some of the songs are my recently released single ‘Ndoenda’, Tytan’s ‘Bho’, Adrian Tate’s ‘Mashura’, Squash’s ‘You Are Beautiful’and Prayersoul’s ‘Ngicel’uxolo’.
