Over 12 000 people are expected to attend Zanu-PF’s Sixth National Congress, which will be held at Harare’s Civic Grounds from December 2 to 7.

Zanu-PF National Chair and acting spokesperson Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo told journalists on Friday that the delegates included party provincial representatives, members of sister liberation movements, diplomats and business leaders.

He said: “This is a milestone Congress and everybody has worked hard for the preparations. There is no doubt that this will be a successful Congress.

“Foreign delegates have confirmed their attendance. These are the ANC (South Africa), Chama Cha Mapinduzi (Tanzania), Frelimo (Mozambique), Sudan People’s Movement (South Sudan), Communist Party of China, Malawi Congress Party and the December 12 Movement (United States).

“The accreditation of delegates has been going on well. 95 percent of the delegates have been accredited so far. Mop-up accreditation will be done at the party’s headquarters, but all accreditation has been done in the provinces.”
