Nothing is as annoying as discovering that your partner sold you a fake image of him or herself before you wedded.

Climbing up the marital ladder through lies is akin to the biblical foolish builder who built his house on sand — when the floods and wind come, that house will fall.

Lies are unsustainable.

Stop the blame game when your marriage fails to work. Before blaming your partner, do your own character and attitude examination and assessment.

Some couples are enduring a strenuous marital life due to misrepresentations done during courtship.

Brand authenticity needs to be declared during dating or courtship. By being authentic, it means one must remain original, competitive, and innovative and deliver his or her brand promise throughout the marital journey.

Would-be grooms in particular must be clear about their spending patterns as well as revenue sources so that they do not raise expectations of their dear wives.

Marriage should be treated as a business or trade where specifications on the quotation should match those on the invoice and the real product.

Matrimonial buddies must always be authentic to each other and remain true to their matrimonial promises.

Many men lie about their financial status, assets and career prospects. For women, common misrepresentations concern chastity and religiosity.

The real problems begin when either partner discovers he/she was tricked by the misrepresentations.

Often when a marriage finds itself on the verge of collapse, spouses are quick to point fingers at each other. Few bother to make proper personal character                                                                                   analyses before pointing fingers to see if they have been doing enough to honour their brand promise.

Brand promising can be verbal or metaphorical.

Verbal promises are the most common, mainly done on the wedding day when spouses make vows to each other before a marriage officer and guests.

Metaphorical promises can be figurative through the use of borrowed suits of posh cars. However, few days or moons into the marriage, one can then discover that she was misled by the allegorical posture or presentations.

Family ideology is also another form of metaphorical promise where a person can be admired because of what they are known for.

People can get attracted to particular brides or grooms due to issues to do with their family values, background or wellbeing.

Problems may start when either the bride or the groom starts behaving in a way not associated with his or her family brand.

Up your game and stay true to your brand promise and character.
