This is sweet news for Zimbabwean soccer. Even if my Dynamos does not take the championship that will not worry me since my greatest worry of the century was the Zifa presidium. Now is the time for a former player to take the reins. Takuda kuita zvebhora manje. – Louis Wamambo Makomeke

Just like a relay Cuthbert has played his part therefore it’s time to pass on the (baton). It’s unfortunate he was the leader when the economy was not stable thereby making it difficult for one to make a proper judgement regarding his capabilities. Well done Cuthbert. – Ronald Mujuru

He played his part. Wish him well. We need a candidate with a proven track record in administration to take over. Lawyer, manager or accountant. In short, someone the corporate world can trust. – Mathias Kalulu

Dube should have left Zifa ages ago but his big ego clouded his judgement. His biggest undoing was being surrounded by bootlickers who sang for their supper whilst he was a blind man leading sheep to a pack of wolves. As for the next boss we need sober minds here. – Stewart Nyamukondiwa

This was long overdue. Dube had no football at heart. He never tried to make things work besides trying to appear like the messiah of Zim football by using his personal financial muscle to stay at the top. He did not have a plan to ensure sustainability and fundraising for national teams. It is in the public domain that his failures at the helm of local football far outweigh his successes. – Robinson Chokowero

Leslie Gwindi should be the next Zifa boss, his football experience will help Zifa to have a positive reputation and he may even attract sponsors. With Ernest “Mapepa” Sibanda as CEO it will be total football again as (in) the Dream Teams days. – Tongai Dodo

I would tip Twine Phiri to take over the hot seat, given his capabilities to lure partners and sponsorship blended with his better leadership qualities. Well done Dube. Long overdue decision. – BaSean

Was he the real problem at Zifa? So we mean all the problems at Zifa will be the things of the past? I can’t believe things will change as long we don’t have cash. – Albert Matewu Kuda
