Hallelujah, miracles still happen

The Sunday Mail

Her Point of View —
In this weird world we live in, people are entitled to whatever opinion catches their; but it doesn’t mean they won’t be roasted for having stupid ones. We have these Johnnies coming late into marriage and getting carried away. Easy boys.

And then there is confusion reigning supreme after that hasty withdrawal of rape charges against Prophet Walter Magaya. While the prophet is now a free man, and I am happy for him, did he rape that unnamed woman or did he not?

Where to start? Very noisy wedding bells
Congratulations are in order. Brother Wicknell Chivayo has finally done it. Or has he? Whatever the case, how I wish he made the announcement more modestly, like normal people do, instead of courting unnecessary controversy.

The blabbermouth took the opportunity to talk down women; Zimbabwean women in particular.

The chubby fella thinks “Zimbabwean girls are very disrespectful and stubborn”. Those girls are also guilty of not possessing any intelligence, and hence it’s their loss because Chivayo has been taken by a South African Zulu beauty — right under their noses.

Boy oh boy, the lashing that came thereafter! Zimbabwean women are indeed feisty; we have to give it to them. Poor Chivayo has been crudely reminded of his rather unattractive physique and personality. Talk about hitting way below the belt.

Zimbabwean ladies are far from heartbroken. They are happy, South Africa has taken him. Ladies, a bit of diplomacy please.

You don’t fight fire with fire lest the whole world burns; more so when you are dealing with a Chivayo whose social intelligence is somewhere between very low and non-existent.

But since Chivayo ignited this interesting conversation, questions have arisen as to why this “socialite” is rarely seen in the company of a woman? If he has so little interaction with women, how then is he able to deduce the stubbornness and dullness of Zimbabwean women?

The outspoken chap always has an answer for everything. I sincerely hope he can field these questions.

Damascene moments
Prophetic Healing and Deliverance’s Prophet Magaya is a colourful man, and that has nothing to do with his garb. The colour is in his demeanour and the kind of story that follows him.

Unlike Chivayo, Prophet Magaya seems to think very highly of Zimbabwean women, considering he is always — rightly or wrongly — entangled in their affairs.

His media-shy and very beautiful wife Tendai seems very respectful, down to earth and intelligent. With her husband facing rape charges in recent months, she has resolutely stood by him and has never publicly questioned his innocence.

What a woman. But the script is becoming predictable. A woman is said to have been sexually abused or involved with the prophet; the allegations are widely publicised; and then the woman suddenly has her Damascene moment and backtracks.

Prophet Magaya emerges the victor and victim. People still flock to Prophet Magaya’s Waterfalls, Harare base for healing and deliverance.

Others have received more than prayers. Notorious pole dancer Beverly Sibanda almost left her trade of choice after getting deliverance and a business head start from the man of God.

Good for her. Years back, Denford Mutashu — husband to Nomsa Ruvazhe — accused the prophet of having an affair with his wife and filed a half-a-million-dollar lawsuit for adultery. And the cat with many lives, Henrietta Rushwaya, also featured in that mini-drama.

Months later, Mutashu withdrew the charges without giving any reasons. Those who believe in miracles will shout “Hallelujah!”
