IT is that time of the year when people get to celebrate and appreciate the beauty of the future in The Sunday Mail/Jet Baby Competition.

The competition, which has been promoting children’s care and wellness for many years, once again promises fireworks. Stiff competition is set to characterise the babies’ “Game of Thrones”.

The contesting babies have the opportunity to have their share of over US$12 000 worth of cash and clothing vouchers among other prizes. With parents having been invited to enter their babies into the competition since July 16, the first batch of contestants was published last week and this will continue until the end of the month.

After the selection of finalists, voting will begin on October 1 up to October 29 with winners set to be announced on November 26. The prize-giving ceremony will be an exquisite affair set to be held at the Rainbow Towers Hotel on December 2.

Speaking to The Sunday Mail Society, Zimpapers business manager (marketing) Charity Gwata-Chirume said they were happy with the entries in this year’s competition.

“We have seen a lot of improvement in the pictures that parents have been bringing this year in terms of quality. I think many parents now know what it takes for their babies to stand a chance to win, so most of them have made sure that their babies are looking clean and are well dressed,” said Gwata-Chirume.

She added that while last year’s edition was a major success, they were aiming to surpass all the previous contests. “The prize-giving ceremony is always a special event especially for parents with the winning babies and we are going to make sure that we organise something they will always remember.”
