THE Sunday Mail Bride of the Year show, set to be held on March 28 in the capital, has partnered with Jan Jam, which specialises in exclusive apparel for men.

Announcing the sponsorship deal last week, Charity Chirume, the business development manager for Zimpapers (Harare Branch), said each year the bridal show is bigger and better and that there are more surprises coming as the build-up to the event.

“Every year we have a different theme and a range of surprises and that we have partnered with Jan Jam, whose trademark is exclusivity, shows how determined we are in making the show different every year.

“Besides dressing our MCs for the night, Jan Jam will also dress the winning bride and her groom as well as the winner of the free wedding,” she explained.

Cynthia Bizure-Sithole, the brains behind Jan Jam, said as much as they are into men’s apparel, they have decided to also dress the winning bride as they could not just dress her man.

“The night belongs to the winning bride and we are going to get out of

our way to dress the winning bride, because she is the one who owns the night. The groom will come as an extra,” she said.

Since arriving on the local scene last year, Jan Jam has caused quite a stir and dresses most of the country’s leading personalities. Sebastian Magacha, Star FM’s Mox, Stunner, BaShupi are among some of the personalities that have been dressed by Jan Jam.

Only last month, the shop opened its second branch in the capital, in George Silundika Avenue to complement the one situated in Nelson Mandela Avenue.

“Our target is the discerning man and we promise that if you get fashion, which is high-end fashion, from our shops, you will not come across someone wearing the same item in town. That is why we say exclusive apparel for the discerning man,” said Bizure-Sithole.

The coming on board of Jan Jam is likely to add more excitement to an already packed programme for this year’s edition.

On Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28, the Bridal Expo, now in its third year, will take place at a venue to be announced.

The expo, where stands are still available for hire, is designed to cater for vendors of wedding and bridal wares, to include cakes, gowns, catering, security, PA systems, car hire, honeymoon packages, chairs, tents, in fact, all that which makes a wedding memorable.

The last two editions of the expo were sold out; reason why Mrs Chirume thinks this year’s is likely to be better.

“More and more couples are

wedding, and even some are renewing their vows so there is an increased demand for wedding and bridal accessories.

“This year’s expo is likely to

break previous records,” said Mrs Chirume. The expo will culminate in

the Bridal Show on the Saturday evening, where the Charambas are going to be the main attraction. Other entertainers will be announced in due course.
