ZIMBABWE will host the first international congress on internal control, internal audit, fraud and anti corruption issues in Victoria Fall this month.

The congress will run from October 30 to 31 and will interrogate major changes and developments affecting the management of corporate risk, governance, anti-fraud and anti-corruption affecting present day businesses.

Experts from the USA, United Kingdom, Romania, South Africa and local delegates will share their knowledge and experiences relating to the key subject matters and provide framework for resolution of such matters.

Organisers of the conference, the Internal Control Institute Zimbabwe (ICIZ) said financial calamities in Africa and the world over were increasing at a worrisome rate.

White collar crime has become common and Africa was struggling to survive this scourge.

The conference would therefore create a platform for delegates to map a way forward in tackling this problem.

“In this first congress for Africa, we have stretched the boundaries in the search for professionalism, protection, competence and superiority in internal control, internal auditing, risk management, corporate governance and compliance, anti-fraud and anti-corruption techniques.

“The congress will examine the relationship between internal controls, auditing and anti-fraud issues on the one hand, and risk management, governance and compliance requirements on the other. It will also Feature the latest corporate governance requirements, in particular those relating to compliance and enterprise risk management,” said ICIZ chief executive Mr Proctor Nyemba.

Corporate governance is the structure through which an organisation is directed, controlled and held accountable. It defines a framework of rights, responsibilities, procedures and relationships amongst the various stakeholders of an organisation, including its directors, managers, shareholders and regulators.

The congress will also offer leadership coaching for delegates.
