THE ability to change one’s life often lies in the ability to change one’s mindset.

It is difficult to register positive achievements in your life if your pattern of thinking does not change. The greatest source for change starts in the mind. Victory and success must first be registered in your mind before they become reality.

A lot of people failed because they could not foresee success. The mind maps the boundaries of great achievements and accomplishments. Champions and losers are differentiated by their appetite for success, their ability to convince their minds that anything is achievable. People do a lot in the pursuit of victory, but because they carry a defeated mind, they accomplish nothing. It is now time to redefine history through aligning your mindset to the DNA of victory.

The history of Warren

Edward Buffet

“We simply attempt to be fearful when others are greedy and to be greedy only when others are fearful,” he once remarked.

Buffet is often regarded as the Oracle of Omaha because of his astute investments.

The American business magnate, who is one of the richest persons on the globe with substantial stakes in companies such as Coca-Cola, has managed to show the world that the secret to success in business is not how much money you invest, but it lies in how much time you take to nurture and grow your investment.

Born in August 30, 1930, Warren Edward Buffett opened the door to success by making simple investments.

He did both the unthinkable and uncommon then.

At only six years old, Buffett took 25 cents and purchased a Coca-Cola six-pack for his grandfather’s grocery store then resold each of the bottles for a nickel (a five-cent coin), pocketing a five cents profit. While other children his age were playing hopscotch and jack, Buffet was making money.

The hope of a great future in your family, church, life and nation is all packed in your present actions.

Individual advise

Never worry about how old you are; instead, be more concerned about whether your business will be able to survive for generations. It is your mentality towards business and whatever you do that shapes the depth and width of the achievement and victory you attain.

Buffett was so young when he first decided to venture into the business world. He had an extraordinary mindset. At that age, one would be expected to be playing with toys and games.

Parental advice

All parents want a great future for their children. It is now time to identify what your child is best at and begin to support him or her in line with their dreams.

Never allow the great gift that is in your child to die. No matter how insignificant the talent might appear in the beginning, it will definitely grow with time.

Societal advice

Let us make a difference by supporting every child, idea and initiative that brings change to our society.

Every community must have policies that create opportunities for children and youths. This helps create new inventors, history makers and world changers.

The Bible says as the man thinketh so is he. Even in the realm of God a man is defined by his way of thinking. If you think low, you go down; if you think great, you will be great. The best resource that a man can be armed with to succeed and become victorious is a positive mindset.

During biblical times, when the children of Israel were being enslaved by Pharaoh, God sent his prophet, Moses, to save them. Because some of the Israelities could not envision a successful escape from the clutches of Pharaoh, they were prepared to stay in Egypt as permanent slaves.

Their present circumstances would not allow them to unlock their mindset.

Refuse to carry the same mentality.

History makers are people who are able to allow their mind to establish a connection with their destiny.

Often school children are asked of their vocational aspirations. The majority choices are limited to being a teacher, doctor and policeman.

Such questions try to gauge children’s aspirations.

In Geography, the main river is called the confluent and the streams are regarded as tributaries. Tributaries supply the main river with most of the water.

This often boosts the velocity of the river (speed at which it is flowing) and its power to erode is rejuvenated (in other words, the river receives life again).

Similarly, the power of great people to change their mindset lies mostly in what they expose themselves to.

For example, the tributaries in your life might be the people you were associated with.

They can positively or negatively feed your mind with information that can destroy or build you.

Make sure you are connected to the right tributaries if you are to be successful in what you purposefully intend to achieve.

Associate with people who have the same aspirations as yours.

Success is not measured by how quick someone is in achieving his or her goals and dreams, but in how long he or she is willing to stay true to what they believe in.

As long as you change the amplitude of your mind, the station for success will be tuned in whatever you do.

Move forward in life with renewed thoughts and new ways will come your way.

The mind is the greatest battlefield where wars are won or lost.

The extent to which you desire to change your mindset will be determined by the desire you are willing to feed it with valuable information and knowledge.

An effective mindset is measured by how much you apply what you have learned in everyday situations and circumstances.

A person who is eager to succeed never grows weary of adding value to his or her mind by reading, researching and studying.

It is not bad to dream or to have a vision and desire that you want to become a successful banker, pilot, doctor or engineer, but it is bad when you are doing nothing to acquire knowledge in your respective field.

For a person who wants to step onto the road to success and victory, it is better to consume literature that is life changing.

According to John Crowe: “Our mind is the most valuable possession that we have, the quality of our lives is, and will be, a reflection of how well we develop, train and utilise this precious gift.”

The constant improvement of the mind is important.

Never take it for granted.

So, if you are hungry for success, the first place to identify the footsteps of success is the mind.

What your mind carries will determine your passion to hunt for success.
