VICE President Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa said Government is committed to establishing a one-stop investment shop that provides a single portal for information for foreign investors.

He noted that bureaucracies are however a major impediment that needs to be addressed.

FDI inflows into Zimbabwe remain relatively lower than regional peers such as Zambia and Mozambique.

“We need a one-stop shop where all answers are provided for investors instead of going around,” said VP Mnangagwa when he officially opened the 2015 International Business Conference at the ZITF (Zimbabwe International Trade Fair) in Bulawayo today.

“We are very poorly rated on cost and ease of doing business; a one stop shop will help speed up investors applications.”

The Conference is being held at the behest of the National Economic Consultative Forum (NECF), a local think tank.

VP Mnangangwa, who also took time to launch the National Nutrition Strategy during the same event, also spoke of Government’s commitment to improving the local business environment for both foreign and local businesses.

In addition, he noted that Government will begin the rehabilitation of the Beitbridge-Masvingo-Chirundu highway following the successful completion of the Plumtree- Mutare highway.
