FIRST Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa leads a list of nine Zimbabwean women who made history after being named among the Women’s Heritage Society World Organisation and Leading Women International’s Top 100 World Inductees of 2021.
Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa and the Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation Dr Kirsty Coventry are among the eminent local women to make it into the Women’s Heritage Hall of Fame from Zimbabwe. Ms Tatiana Aleshina Ellis, chief operations officer of West Properties Zimbabwe, Women’s Bank chief executive Dr Mandas Marikanda, CAG Travellers and Tours director Dr Afra Nhanhanga, Bebe Angel of The Goodnews Church, Cynthia Bizure Sithole, founder of Jan Jam and comedienne Tyra “Madam Boss” Chikocho complete the list of inductees.

The last three Zimbabwean women to be inducted were Professor Hope Sadza, the founder and Vice Chancellor of the Women’s University in Africa, the then Vice President Dr Joice Mujuru and Dr Divine Ndhlukula, the founder of Securico. They joined the likes of former US First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and international Tennis star Serena Williams into the hall of fame.
In addition to the induction, the nine women are also featured on the Leading Women Show, where they are also honoured and celebrated courtesy of Leading Women International.
One of the inductees, Ms Tatiana Ellis, has already been interviewed on the show during which she was awarded the Leading Women International Award in Leadership Excellence as part of the induction.
Ms Ellis runs West Properties Zimbabwe, a property development company that was recently named the Property Development Company of the year by Property Magazine.
The award was presented to her by the host and executive producer of the Show in Africa, Dr Enrico Maverick, who is also chairman and editor in chief of Women’s Magazine, on behalf of Leading Women International. In an interview with The Sunday Mail, Dr Maverick said:
“The Women’s Heritage Hall of Fame is the hallmark and highest symbolic preservation and historical recognition and honour bestowed upon any woman in the world who has lived a life that inspires another life. The Hall of Fame is just limited to 100 inductees worldwide on an annual basis.”
All future editions of Women’s Magazine will be featuring each inductee after they have been featured on the Leading Women Show.
