Zimbabwe is this week expected to join other southern African nations at the AFMASS FoodTech Southern Africa Food, Beverage and Milling conference slated for Lusaka, Zambia.
The AFMASS FoodTech Southern Africa, is one of the biggest platforms for stakeholders in Southern Africa food, beverages and milling sectors.
It provides a stage to share latest technologies and innovations that are critical to the growth of the sectors and also how to assist countries facing challenges. Zimbabwe is currently pursuing strategies to boost its grain reserves following a bad season characterised by an El Nino-induced drought.
The country is expected to leverage on its participation at the conference to reach out to grain suppliers. In an interview with The Sunday Mail, Grain Millers Association of Zimbabwe (GMAZ) chairman Mr Tafadzwa Musarara said he would represent the country as guest speaker at the conference.
