REGGAE music belts out from Dominic Mukandi’s car as he arrives for training at Caps United and it’s the same modus operandi when he heads back home.

The 29-year-old midfielder, who saw his intended move from Ngezi Platinum to FC Platinum hit the brick wall, is back at Makepekepe and says he is ready to bring the feel good mood into the dressing room.

“The loud music helps me psyche up and shows that I am in happy mood. Caps United is my home and am happy to be back home. With Zato in the dressing room, every day is a party,” he said.

Zato is Mukandi’s nickname.

“I am happy with how I have been received by the coaches and the executive. I feel like I never left and am ready to work hard and help the team to achieve its goals,” he added.

Mukandi starred for Makepekepe in 2015 but crossed the great divide at the start of 2016 to join rivals Dynamos were he hoped his stock would raise.

But things didn’t pan out as he would have expected.

“It was a learning experience. At times you have to accept that you can’t fit into the playing style of a team and at the end of the day you struggle with form and that is what I can say happened to me,” said Mukandi.

In a bid to regain his form, he joined Ngezi Platinum at the beginning of 2017, and again he was a caricature of the midfielder he was at Makepekepe.

Ngezi Platinum terminated his contract after the FC Platinum debacle.

Mukandi reckons that may turn out to be a blessing in disguise.  “It may be early to talk of things like the title and trophies. l have worked with the coach (Lloyd Chitembwe) before and I have got so much faith in him.

“He is tough but also understands me and l hope to get back to my best under his watch,” he said.
