TAKESURE Zamar Ncube will today drop multi-lingual albums online as part of commemorating Easter, The Sunday Mail Society can reveal.

Zamar has been singing gospel for over a decade, releasing hits and touching lives with his deep worship tracks.

“Easter is a special season because it reminds me that I was once a sinner. Before I knew Him, He loved me, He died for me,” said Zamar in an interview from his South African base.

“In my spirit right now, all I am singing and playing are songs to do with the cross, the blood of Jesus and songs that remind me of the love of God.

“On Sunday (today), I will first release a Zulu album online and then I will also release Shona and Sotho-Tswana albums.”

It has been a busy period for Zamar, who has been flying in and around South Africa, and also to Harare, as he perfected his projects.

Born in Beitbridge, Zamar formed his group Worship Addicts in 2011.

In 2014, he joined award-winning South African ensemble Joyous Celebration as a vocalist.

“It is now a decade in the industry. I do acknowledge my shortcomings as an artiste. I accept that I might not be the most gifted vocalist or musician Zimbabwe has ever had, but it’s been the grace of God that has taken me from one platform to another,” he reckons.

“Without sounding too pompous, by God’s grace, I would say I have ministered on many big platforms, if not all big platforms in Southern Africa. God has been gracious to me; my vision now is to go to Central Africa and Eastern Africa.”

Zamar is promising several collaborations as he spreads the word of God through music.

However, he is not limiting himself to foreign artistes only.

“I feel that it is my season to minister not just to people in Zimbabwe but Africa at large. I am currently working on a Swahili song with Tanzania and Kenya in mind. I have people from there calling me asking ‘what about us’, since I have done Zulu, Sotho, Venda and Shona songs.”

The gospel singer said he believes in local upcoming artistes.

In February, he and fellow artistes that included OnceMore Six, Gundo Gee, Khayalake, Blessing Jeduthun and Chairo initiated “Bottomless Worship”, a seven-hour virtual worship project.

The programme has touched the hearts of many.

However, the initiative will be put on ice this month.

“All musicians involved, myself included, are busy, hence we are briefly taking a break. We will resume on May 7.”

Zamar has already released “Zvinoda Nyasha”, his first single of the year off his yet-to-be unleashed live DVD.

“The Shona version of ‘Ncgwele (udumo ne Zibongo)’ – I think I released it some two days ago (on Sunday). There is a lot coming.”
