Youthful Old Hararians look poised for a third consecutive Mashonaland Squash Rackets Association title after they remain undefeated going into the final rounds of fixtures.

Led by 19-year-old star Blessing Muhwati, OH are sailing smoothly towards a hat-trick of titles.

Only five games remain in the A League, with OH sitting on top with 44 points, 17 ahead of second-placed St John’s A (27 points) and Belgravia A (26).

Old Hararians captain Muhwati, who led them to last season’s title, is confident they will grab a third successive championship despite losing some key players.

“Compared to last year, this one is definitely tougher considering two of our players George Nkonjera and Farai Nhau moved out of Harare and also other teams are stronger.

“However, we have maintained the top two spots in the team and we probably have the best number one and two (players) in the league.

“So, we will be able to pull it off and we are grateful to our manager Maturure for his support,” said Muhwati, who leads a teenage side that also has 19-year-old Runyararo “TK”Kadyautumbe and Prince Edward’s Nehemia Mashonganyika (17).

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Under-19 team (also called Belgravia B) of Covermore Mutata, Callum Lawton and Crispen Chimbora continue to find the going tough as they are still winless in the top flight league.

The currently anchor the six-team league with a paltry nine points.

The season has also been challenging for Princes A side, who have only managed to garner 14 points and are currently fifth on the log.
