JUST like most Zimbabweans I am also a staunch supporter of the national soccer team and will be rallying behind them when they play Malawi in an Afcon qualifier.
Currently I am in Bulawayo with the rest of the national cricket team as we prepare for the India series.
However, I have a grafted a game plan that should see me being in Harare in time for this big match.I intend to drive to Harare early on match day because this is one game I cannot afford to miss.
It’s a big game and every patriotic Zimbabwean should be at the National Sports Stadium to rally behind the boys.
I won’t be speeding, no.
The only speed I am concerned with is my bowling speed.
I love the Warriors and am looking forward to going to the game in the company of my good friends Kuda Chirume, Kuda Munyede and Victor Nyauchi as well as singing ‘Ichokwadi Mwari Variko’ when the Warriors smell victory.
I might be a national team cricketer but I love soccer.Remember I was once injured during a social match in my home town of Mutare last year.My left shin was fractured and I have since quit playing social soccer but watching won’t hurt so I will be there to rally behind the boys.
Watching the Warriors win will be inspire me when we take on India and my hope is that the national soccer team players will also come to our matches to offer support.I strongly believe the time has come for our boys to play at the Africa Cup of Nations finals again.
So Go Warriors Go!
Zimbabwe cricket team bowler Tendai Chatara spoke to The Sunday Mail Sports reporter Brighton Zhawi over the phone on Wednesday last week.
