A LOCAL web aggregator that provides a portal for various financial and funeral service products was launched on Thursday in the capital as e-commerce platforms increasingly take a claim on local commerce.

Zimselector.com is described as an “online financial services shopping mall” that interfaces customers with local service providers. It is believed that it also provides a payment platform.

The company’s business development director, Mrs Zelina Francis told The Sunday Mail Business that the organisation had been given regulatory approval by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) and the Securities Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe (SECZ).

“Trust is a very important principle for us and we are proud to be partnering with the most significant and trusted that have been around for decades, so customers don’t need to worry about the safety of their investments,” she said.

Total Systems UK is a technological partner of the business. Concerns about insurance products mainly centre on the reliability and security of online platforms.

“Total Systems UK have a wealth of experience as a provider of insurance solutions to some of the UK’s leading providers. We are proud of our partnership and appreciative of their significant contribution to what is a world class product. It (the site) has been designed to exacting standards and has been built by developers who have world class skills and have worked with some of the well known global brands, including prime global financial brands.

“The developer teams include ICT engineers, software engineers, actuaries, finance specialists and marketing and distributions strategists,” said the company in a recent statement.

There are also plans to introduce online international money transfer. The product will also target Zimbabweans in the Diaspora.
